Monahans is a city in and the county seat of Ward County, Texas. A small portion of the city extends into Winkler County. The city is considered “The Center of the Permian Basin”. The area has been developed by the oil industry because of the Permian Basin. The city began as a small community around the tracks of the Texas and Pacific Railroad that served as a water station. Back then, the community was known as the Monahans Well. Eventually, the discovery of oil in the Permian Basin led to the growth of Monahans Well to the city it is today and the changing of its name to Monahans.
Today, the city is home to over 7,000 people. Most of these people work in the oil industry. In the oil industry, heavy equipment is often necessary to complete day-to-day tasks and maintenance of facilities and infrastructure. However, owning heavy equipment is costly and most companies can’t afford every piece of equipment or simply do not want to. Thankfully, Somers & Watson Machinery provides a variety of
heavy equipment rentals, including
water trucks,
backhoes, and other
oil field equipment rentals, for the Monahans, TX area.
